A weekend contact improvisation intensive with
Roel Hammerschlag and Yonti Ma.

We will take a deep and slow dive into details of contact improvisation, like:
  • listening with all your senses: touch, proprioception, vestibular, temperature, light, sound.
  • entering and leaving dances
  • the social dynamics of CI
  • giving and receiving weight
  • being ready for anything
  • staying safe
  • softness vs. hardness, yield vs. resist
  • falling, balancing, and courage
  • being present, eye contact, when to use your voice, when to enjoy quiet
  • the interweave of skills and intimacy
  • consciousness, self-consciousness, witness
 
An easygoing intro on Friday, and then we will go to depth on Saturday, starting slowly in the morning. Nice long lunchbreak in the middle. If you are from out of town, let us know and we will try to find you a place to stay overnight.
